[바티칸, Vatican] 성 베드로 광장 – Piazza di San Pietro

바티칸은 로마 안에 있는 아주 작은 나라지만 그래도 엄연히 다른 나라이기 때문에 오기 전에 많은 주변 사람이 걱정을 했다. 함부로 들어갈 수 있느냐, 가이드를 통해서 가야 하지 않느냐, 환전은 안 해도 되느냐, 비자는 미리 준비하지 않아도 되느냐 등등…… 그러나 막상 와 보니 그냥 울타리 하나 쳐 놓고 광대 복장을 입은 스위스 군인들이 지키고 있는 것이 다다. 세상은 참 우리가 생각하는 것보다 훨씬 다양하다.

그렇게 어렵지 않게 바티칸 국경을 넘고 나면 성 베드로 광장이 나온다. 어찌나 멋진지! 그림처럼 아름답다는 말은 바로 이런 광경을 두고 하는 것이리라._M#]

Vatican is a very small country in Roma, anyway, it is an independent country.
