[2006 중국, China] 北京 3 – Beijing 3

중국에 오면 개나소나 다 가 보는 만리장성에 갔다. 만리장성은 그 이름에서 알 수 있듯이 엄청나게 길기 때문에 다 볼 수는 없고, 이름난 구간을 정해서 본다. 우리는 물론 그 중에 가장 유명한 팔달령 장성에 갔다.

We visited Great Wall everybody visits. We cannot visit whole Great Wall because of the length as the name of it says. So we just visited the most famous section, BaDaRing.

가는 길에 기사 아저씨가 팔달령에 대해 설명하는데 그 옛날 흉노족이 쳐들어왔을 때 제갈량이 북과 장구를 동원해 적은 수의 병사로 다 막아낸 곳이 바로 팔달령이란다. 아무리 생각해도 이상하지만 다들 수긍하는 분위기였다. 믿거나 말거나.

On the way there, the driver explained about BaDaRing, it was the place in which JeGalLyang blocked the HyungNo’s attackers with just a small amount of soldiers. It seems so strange but everybody there seemed to agree with that. Well;;;

만리장성에는 사람이 많았다. 여지껏 이렇게 사람이 많은 관광지를 본 적이 없다. 만리장성은 말 다섯 필이 동시에 지나다닐 수 있을 만큼 넓은데 그 넓은 장성에 사람들이 가득 들어찼다. 대단하다.

Great Wall was full of visitors. I’ve never visited the sight-seeings with so many people like this. It is wide enough for 5 horses going simultaneously, but visitors filled the wall. Great.

개발한 지 얼마 되지 않는다는 용경협은 그야말로 장관이었다. 내가 늘 동경해 마지 않던 풍광이 눈 앞에서 펼쳐지니 벌려진 입은 다물어지지 않고 떠진 눈은 감아지지 않더라. 배를 빌려 노 젓고 노닐었는데 호기심이 발동해 계곡 끝까지 갔다. 좌호동 수고했네.

LongQingXia which is developed recent was really great!! It was the utopia of my mind. We rented the boat and enjoyed. With curiosity, we started to go to the end of the valley. Well done, Mr. Jwa.

용경협은 정말 의도적으로 개발한 놀이공원이었다. 케이블카에 노 젓는 배, 용 머리 모양의 동굴입구…… 심지어 마지막에 나올 때는 썰매를 타고 내려갈 수 있도록 되어 있기까지 했다. 즐겁기는 한데 뭔가 마음 한 구석이 씁쓸하기도 했다.

LongQingXia is the intended theme park. There were cable car, boat, enterance of cave which is the shpae of dragon….. And the end of the tour, we could ride a sleigh. It was joyous but something strange.

여기도 한국인 관광객들 천지라 간판에 한글이 병기되어 있고, 심지어 한국 돈도 통한다. 중국도 대단하지만 우리나라도 참 대단하구나.

There are so many Korean visitors here too. So the signboard there says with Korean language and even Korean currency also works. China is great, but Korea is also great…
